Client: Port Authority of Cartagena
Location: Escombreras Valley, Cartagena (Murcia)
REGENERA develops for the Port Authority of Cartagena the drafting of the Detailed Design for the Eco-Energy Rack in the Escombreras Valley. It is an infrastructure of about 3.8 km which extends the port's pipeline rack from El Fangal to Alumbres, creating a technical corridor for conventional and new-generation energy products, such as green hydrogen or biofuels.
Work carried out
- Study of alternatives and definition of final route.
- Drafting of the Detailed Design.
- Coordination of topography and geotechnics.
- Structural calculation of the rack.
- Interference study with the existing services.
- Processing and coordination with public agencies and private entities for the obtaining of the necessary authorizations.
A complex route
The rack runs alongside the CT-34 and the Rambla de Escombreras, in an industrial corridor with numerous power lines, pipelines and oil pipelines. Its final route has been defined in coordination with the competent administrations and with the companies that own the existing infrastructures, seeking at every point a solution compatible with all of them.
The projected solution, a overhead rack with elevated lattice crossings, makes it possible to overcome these constraints while maintaining existing services and access to the adjacent facilities. In addition, the design includes provision for their Future expansion and its continuity into the ZAL of Los Camachos.
This project reinforces REGENERA's experience in engineering of port and industrial infrastructures linked to the energy transition.
