P2P Smart Test
REGENERA participates in the P2P Smart Test project within the Horizon 2020 programme promoted by the European Commission. The objective of this framework programme -H2020- is to address the main social challenges, promote industrial leadership in Europe and strengthen the excellence of its scientific base by supporting the financing of R&D&I projects developed in cooperation by different entities (universities, SMEs, foundations, technology centres and large companies) from different countries of the Member States.
This programme covers a wide range of topics, such as: water in the context of the circular economy, energy efficiency and Smart cities. The P2P project is part of the call for proposals: competitive low-carbon energy and belongs to the thematic area: LCE-07-2014: Distribution grid and retail market. The project has a strong innovative character with an associated contribution from the European Commission of 70% for for-profit entities.
Objectives
The aim of the conference is to analyse, under the prism of the P2P Smart Test project, the future energy landscape at national and European level. The main objective of the P2P Project is to investigate and demonstrate a smart energy distribution system integrated with advanced ICT tools, regional markets and new and innovative business models.
The project is based on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) approaches with the goal of ensuring integration between demand flexibility and optimal operation of distributed energy sources and other resources within the grid, while maintaining the balance between power, quality and security of supply. In other words, the system will be able to match bids between demand and generation autonomously at the local level (between microgrids). The aim is to bring demand and generation closer together, making the price of energy more competitive and reducing dependence on the electricity grid. In this way, consumers and small producers acquire a more important role in the purchase and sale of energy.
