MONITOCOES

REGENERA is leading the project for the development of a new intelligent monitoring system for microorganisms and emerging contaminants in sewage networks. The aim of this project is to develop a new continuous real-time monitoring system that allows the determination of Emerging Organic Pollutants (EOCs), pathogenic microorganisms and the control of other wastewater quality parameters, capable of operating inside sewage networks. Likewise, the construction of a device that allows communication to be established to transmit the data recorded on a web platform, so that it is possible to monitor the pollutant load circulating in the network at all times, is also being considered.

This programme covers a wide range of topics, such as: water in the context of the circular economy, energy efficiency and Smart cities. The P2P project is part of the call for proposals: competitive low-carbon energy and belongs to the thematic area: LCE-07-2014: Distribution grid and retail market. The project has a strong innovative character with an associated contribution from the European Commission of 70% for for-profit entities.

The working team participating in the MONITOCOEs project brings together collaborators specialising in different areas as it is a multidisciplinary research project. Together with REGENERA, a company dedicated to the management and execution of activities for the production of electrical energy by installations supplied by renewable energy resources or sources, waste and cogeneration, the company INGENIATIC DESARROLLO, dedicated to the development of offering solutions and services for wireless networks, 3D printing, ICT consultancy and web developments, is participating in the research. The UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA DE CARTAGENA also forms part of the research team through the Division of Innovation in Telematic Systems and Electronic Technology (DINTEL) and the R&D&I Group in Hydraulic, Maritime and Environmental Engineering (Hidr@m). The academic part of the consortium is completed with the participation of the technology centre ASOCIACION EMPRESARIAL CENTRO TECNOLOGICO ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (CETENMA) whose purpose is to support research, development and technological innovation for companies in the energy and environment sector, as well as related industries.

The project has been funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation - State Research Agency, within the RETOS-COLABORACIÓN 2019 call that supports cooperative projects between companies and research organisations, whose objective is to promote technological development, innovation and quality research.
