Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia

At REGENERA, we continue to join the energies of the future, which are not only revolutionising industry, but are also committed to the environment.

Green Hydrogen

Green hydrogen is a sustainable and efficient way to produce hydrogen using renewable energy. It stores energy in the form of gas and is an important tool for moving towards a cleaner, sustainable economy, and ammonia is its best transport vector.

Green hydrogen is a clean and sustainable energy source that can be stored and subsequently used to meet energy demand. It also produces no greenhouse gas emissions and can be produced locally.

Challenges for green hydrogen include the high cost of production, the lack of infrastructure for storage and distribution, and the need to improve the efficiency of water electrolysis.

Green hydrogen is currently being used in transport applications, such as buses and trucks, and in industry for steel and chemical production. It is also being investigated for use in electricity generation and as a fuel for heating and cooling.

Projects

Our work

HydroGREEN

HydroGREEN has an objective, the development and application of a hydrogen fuel cell as a sustainable fuel, obtained from photovoltaic renewable sources.

Our project had a duration of 1 year, and had a consortium of 5 partners, with REGENERA as project coordinator. Consortium formed by UPCT, CTENMA, IDEA engineering and Caliche Group. In addition to participating in national and regional R&D&I projects, REGENERA has been awarded as an Innovative SME by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of the Spanish Government thanks to its high participation in international R&D programmes.

VPP4Islands

The project named LC-SC3-ES-4-2020: Decarbonising energy systems of geographical Islands has a consortium of 19 partners. It will develop virtual power plants (VPP) for interoperable and smart islands in Europe.

This 42-month project will facilitate the integration of renewable systems and accelerate the transition to smart and green technology. It will also help islands to exploit the potential of energy efficiency and innovative storage approaches to achieve energy self-sufficiency.

SOFC4GreenGriD

The SOFC4GreenGrID project has focused particularly on the development and integration of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) for powering green hydrogen-based microgrids. These green energy cells have proven to be a safe, reliable and efficient energy source.

Green HY CELL

The Green HY CELL project for new prototypes of green hydrogen generation systems to boost the competitiveness of Spanish industry is one of the two projects awarded to REGENERA under the CDTI Misiones Ciencia en Innovación 2022 call for proposals.
