Client: ESAMUR – Regional Wastewater Sanitation and Treatment Agency of the Region of Murcia
Location: Vega Alta del Segura (Abarán, Blanca, Calasparra and Cieza), Region of Murcia
REGENERA, in a joint venture with Sacyr Agua, is the contractor for the operation and maintenance of the sanitation and purification facilities in the Vega Alta area of the Segura River, under the ESAMUR contract for various facilities in the Region of Murcia, for a period of up to five years.
The service covers four wastewater treatment plants (EDAR Abarán, Blanca, Calasparra and Cieza) and four wastewater pumping stations (EBAR Abarán, Blanca II, Blanca III and Cieza), with their rising mains, trunk sewers and outfalls. The objective is to ensure continuous operation without odors, compliance with the discharge authorizations and with Directive (EU) 2024/3019 on urban wastewater treatment.
Work carried out
- Operation of the water, sludge and odour-control lines: pretreatment, biological treatment, settling, tertiary treatment and UV disinfection.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance of electromechanical equipment, instrumentation and electrical panels.
- Analytical control of influent and effluent and monitoring of quality parameters.
- Management of dewatered sludge and waste.
- Equipment replacement and energy audits aimed at improving the energy self-sufficiency of the plants.
This project reinforces REGENERA’s experience in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure for the entire water cycle, bringing its knowledge in energy efficiency, automation, and digitalization of treatment facilities.
